Review: The Cheers (치어스) - 야 (YA) [MV]

The Cheers is a new kpop duo who has just debuted with their new song and MV called YA! YA is definitely a different sound from the normal kpop scene, it has more of an American Ting Ting kind of vibe which is really refreshing to hear against all the different kpop groups and singers who have debuted in 2012 so far.

The song it self does sound pretty amazing but the vocals are something I'm not sure about. I think that's mostly because I'm so use to hearing the mighty chords behind pop music. YA has more of a punk pop vocal feel to it, which caught me off guard but I'm not complaining about it in the least. I do really enjoy the vibe it gets off. The video is also pretty cute. A theme of solid colors in their outfits and the question mark dress is pretty freaking adorable! I'm also usually a grouch when it comes to the use of live lyrics in MVs but I actually enjoyed it added into this one because the lyrics pop up here and there instead of all being thrown on the screen while the action is occurring.

YA is an interesting song as are The Cheers themselves and I'm looking forward to hearing more from them!
