Review: Chad Futures Hello

Foreign artists coming out with English albums or singles is nothing new. But what happens when English artists try to do the same thing? Well, it appears one individual who goes by the name Chad Future is doing just that with his song Hello featuring Jeremy Thurbur.

I have to admit, the first time I heard this I was pumped! That was my first reaction just on the face value of exactly what was going on with this non-Korean guy singing in Korean. But, as I listened to the song more and more, I focused on the lyrical value of the song. What I heard I wasn't really impressed with. While the sound of the song is nice with the familiar poppy party tune we hear a lot, the lyrics are a bit lacking. There is nothing wrong with rhyming in a composure but in this particular song it comes off a bit slopped together in sections. That's not to say that all of the sections lack something. The bits sung by Jeremy Thurbur come off as a nice equal to Chad's more hard up voice. They balance each other out well.

The video is in a similar situation. It's a nice setup: The outfits are stylish, the dancing is fair and the overall look has that Korean Pop feel to it to show the mix of the two sides together. With that being said, it's probably safe to say that his song and video have gotten a lot of backlash. Unfortunately, it appears as though a Korean artist mixing English and Korean in a song is fine but when a Caucasian does it, there's some wrong in it. One line in the song says, 'It's never been done, lets bridge the gaps.' I'm all for that, even if I feel Chad Future has some growing to do in his delivery.

Check out the video and song below!
